I have some *.adv files from a security camera, but I can't play them. What program should I use?

Query by Sandman: I have some *.adv files from a security digital camera, but I can not play them. What system need to I use?
These files are *.adv, and I tried every little thing, from media player to actual player. Nothing can open these files, I even tried using 2 plans to recognize the file kind, and one of them said it was an mp3 file, the other a single explained it was mpeg two. I put in hours searching for some data on this, but absolutely nothing. What I know is that I want some tyoe of DVR Pplayer, or something like that, but even these (I attempted 1 or 2) only seem to be in a position to open *.DVR files, not *.ADV files. Can anybody help?
