Can I hook up a security camera to a Verizon DVR box?

Question by Sue C: Can I hook up a protection camera to a Verizon DVR box?
I see you can get a DVR box to hook up with the video clip digital camera. But if you by now have a DVR box from Verizon can you just use that? Or does the DVR box have to be especially for the protection digital camera?

The DVR has to be a box that has a video input that can record.

The Verizon box has no such inputs it data only kind its digital cable/IPTV input.
