Can I use Cat 5e UTP cable to wire a home alarm system?

Query by Earl G: Can I use Cat 5e UTP cable to wire a home alarm technique?
I am prewiring my residence. Aside from utilizing Cat 5e for voice & information, can it be used to connect different alarm devices these as magnetic contacts, PIR sensors, lower voltage siren & strobe, keypad, to the main handle panel? If I am not mistaken, magetic contacts use #22 AWG pair of white wires. Longest run is all around 25 meters.

What's the variety of "low voltage" you can transmit utilizing UTP, let us say thirty meters max? I want to use it also to ability 9v smoke alarms and DC-powered protection cameras. The intent is to have centralized management of various programs and provide UPS backup to energy.
