Q&A: I would like to set up a home network security system, any suggestions?

Issue by michael: I would like to set up a residence network security method, any suggestions?
I would like to install up to four cameras, connected to my house network. Has anyone place together a low cost Diy surveillance system in their homes? What did you do?

A number of specifics:
- I would like to be capable to document up to 24 hours of mid to higher quality coloration video clip.
- I would like motion detection to set off recording, and deliver an electronic mail alert.
- I have a number of spare pcs I can dedicate to monitoring/recording.
- Wireless would be great, but I can simply run my individual ethernet cables, or rca cables.
- Sound is not required.
- I can set up complex systems with no issue if it signifies saving a few bucks by not obtaining a fancy all-inclusive surveillance method.
- The potential to view cameras remotely would be good.
- I currently have a Linksys N wireless router.

This is good video clip surveillance: application http://www.deskshare.com/video-surveillance-software program.aspx. Protection Monitor Pro can check, preview and document from up to sixteen cameras simultaneously. You can get cheap (wired or wireless) IP cameras, I use TrendNet, or you can use a mix of IP and USB cameras. Motion detection to trigger recording, sending electronic mail/cell mobile phone alerts with pictures, uploading images and video clips, all the features you want and, far more are in this application. It is affordable at $ 89 for 2 cameras, and you can include much more cameras as you require to.
