Hard issue to reply given that we don't know:
exactly where the set up is,
the sort of developing or region to be covered,
the cable runs out to the cameras and again to the DVR,
if including energy is needed,
whether or not indoor only or if any outdoor rated cameras are essential,
how they would be mounted,
if heating/cooling housings are necessary - we really don't know what component of what nation you are situated,
whether any of the cameras need infrared zero light vision,
how much they require to see in the dark,
if you require any pan-tilt-zoom capabilities and how you want to handle that,
how lengthy the video clip needs to be stored in the DVR,
what your options are in case of power outage,
if you need to have a battery bback up, how extended it needs to final - minutes, hours or days...
what kind of check you want to use - or how many monitors you want to use,
regardless of whether you need to have pc entry to the video and if/how that network integration is heading to transpire...

There's far more - but just for the hardware, I feel budgeting $ 1,000 for a buyer-grade eight channel DVR (they don't come in six-channel, that I know of) and a Large difficult drive... and $ one hundred fifty every for client-grade, medium resolution, outdoor rated, evening-vision cameras with a throw of about seventy five feet (six cameras x $ one hundred fifty = $ 900... and these are not high-priced), plus tax... round numbers, about $ 2,000 just for the standard hardware (DVR and cameras). It will be comparatively effortless to arrive in under this $ 2,000 budget, but not by a lot - it is the labor and other resources that are the huge unidentified. Drop the cameras to reduced resolution black & white with no evening vision and the $ /cam drop to about $ 30 each.

Labor and supplies (and drilling and patching and pulling cables) will rely on the surveillance area installation demands. Monitors and other "features" (PTZ, cabling to many monitors, and so forth) are far more $ ... For budgeting, probably one thing a minor much less than $ ten,000 for easy and simple. More for complicated (further monitors, including to a pc network, battery again up for the DVR, cameras and at least a single keep track of, and many others...)
