Question by john_mgd: are there any digital video cameras that can record & store at least 24 hours at a time?
there's gotta be something out there, maybe it could take lower quality video & have a huge capacity. i need it for home security, i've looked at camera/dvr systems & they're just too complicated. with a dv camcorder, all i need is the camera, a tripod, a huge memory card, and an AC power adaptor, set it up by a window, & format it every morning
well, i need it to watch my car. i would need 3 or 4 of them to capture all angles because my car is about 30 feet from my apartment building & there's nothing near 3 sides of my car where i park. so i would much rather have a constant view recorded.

Can you live with motion activated recording or do you want to record when there is nothing happening?
With motion activation you don't have to have as much recording capacity. Here is an example of a self contained unit.
