how do i set up my laptop as the dvr or "vcr" to receive video feeds from my security monitor?

Query by 3ntropy: how do i set up my laptop computer as the dvr or "vcr" to receive video feeds from my safety check?
i have a monitor that is crapping out on me in black and white and i want to set up my laptop computer to record all pictures that are captured by my protection cameras. i have video clip and audio in jacks and i was asking yourself if there is any application i require for this to happen.

i downloaded tincan, but it does not detect the keep an eye on or other cameras aside from my integrated webcam.

i guess i could go get a vcr for $ 20, but i know this is feasible so i wanted some aid. thanks.

i am hunting specially for software program, great stable directions, and a remedy.

i know i can only give you ten pts, but this will give me peace of head. :)

1 plan that may possibly work for you is SuperVideoCap ($ 24.95) from MySuperSoft, which will consider input from a video clip card and enable you to stream it out.

(Rather of tying down your laptop, get a low-cost/used Personal computer with a large tough drive.)

What do you consider? Answer beneath!
