Im considering of purchasing a spy camera for my place and want to know if I have to purchase a special DVR box or if I could just use my Comcast Box with DVR?

No, you have to obtain a separate DVR. The Cable Organization uses it only for their cable signal. So an output on the box would only let you see/see it dwell not recording it.
