Q&A: Question about how to set a camera to be fired on a delay with motion sensors or lasers?

Query by AHOLE: Query about how to set a digital camera to be fired on a delay with movement sensors or lasers?
I'm trying to find out if there are any items out there which can be linked to a Canon 5D which will set off the shutter when movement is detected by sound or lasers or whatever. I've seen some delay apparatuses on the web but they all search homemade. Does anybody know of anything that would perform for this?

Movement sensors that work by means of the viewfinder are rather good...
You have a grid of squares on a display and you can set any square to trigger the digital camera when the appeal alterations by much more than a set amount.

But they get a lot of setting up....
