I would like to use my pc digital camera for a protection camera of sorts while I am on trip. Possibly tak a photo each and every so usually. (Motion sensor would be wonderful but I don't want to get 1.) Is there a way to set it to get a picture each and every hour or so?

you could, i use coffeecup.com's cam computer software to document and e-mail me an alert when the cam detects motion, it is quite neat cheap choice resolution for a thing i don't want so frequently.
